ZkTeco Protocol Engine — Lite Version Engine for ZkTeco and eSSL Biometric devies
Overview
This protocol engine lite version is designed to facilitate communication between biometric devices and remote/local servers without relying on external data servers or the cams data server. The engine is compatible with biometric devices that have Cloud Server communication, Server IP communication, ADMS, WDMS, or Web Server communication support and are verified at https://developer.camsunit.com/ .
If you want your biometric device communication to be done only with your server directly, without involving cams data server, or if you want to run your biometric system in a local environment where you don't use the internet, you need this protocol engine.
It is important to note that the engine does not affect the API activation cost and license cost, which remain the same as usual. Additionally, once the engine is installed, it cannot be transferred and should remain running in the same server all the time.
The protocol engine supports all OS versions of Windows, Unix/Linux, and Mac. The cost may vary based on the OS and its versions, but the basic cost is listed on the website.
It' worths noting while trying to integate with at least 100 units, and but the cost will be higher for lesser quantities.

Yes — every Cams Biometrics device ships with the Cams Biometric Gateway API enabled. The Gateway exposes a REST + webhook interface that connects to any ERP, HRMS, payroll, school management, or custom application. No SDK installation required.

How long does integration take?
First attendance event flowing to your callback URL in under 12 minutes; full production workflow shipped in under 30 minutes. The API speaks raw JSON over HTTPS — works with PHP, Node.js, Python, Go, Java, Ruby, C#.
Does Cams store biometric data?
No raw biometric data is stored on Cams servers. Templates live on the devices themselves and on your customer's server. Encrypted mathematical representations pass through the Gateway temporarily for synchronization. ISO 9001:2015 certified, GDPR-aligned.
